The Heavyweight Champion of Double Oak

This Old Zach 9 1/2 year Double Oak Bourbon is a powerhouse of a whiskey, aged long and finished bold. At 136 proof and with a Barton 1792 pedigree, this isn’t a pour; it’s an experience.  Selected exclusively by The Prime Barrel, this is high-octane, meticulously finished bourbon that has been pushed to the absolute limit of wood-sugar extraction.

At a staggering 136 proof, this bottle is for the enthusiast who demands intensity, complexity, and a finish that lasts and lasts.

Distilled in Bardstown, KY by the masters at Barton 1792, this bourbon features the classic 74% Corn, 18% Rye, and 8% Malted Barley mashbill - known for its perfect balance of sweetness and rye spice.

But the real magic happened during the secondary aging.  After over 8 1/2 years in its original barrel, this spirit was moved into a new Char 4 Kelvin barrel for a full 10-month finish.  Kelvin Cooperage is world-renowned for its “slow toast” methods, and the Alligator Char 4 delivers deep, dark caramelization and an oaky profile that tames the massive proof.

Why This Belongs On Your Bar

Rarely do you find a double-oaked expression that maintains its structural integrity at such a high proof. Whether you enjoy it neat, with a single large cube to open up the oils, or as the world’s most intense Old Fashioned base, the Old Zach Double Oak Prime Barrel Selection is a testament to the art of the finish.
